How Relaymed is mitigating security risks

Certifying with HITRUST

HITRUST (Health Information Trust Alliance) is a certification program for information security and privacy that was developed specifically for the healthcare industry. It is a framework for managing information risk and provides a set of controls for safeguarding electronic health information (ePHI).

HITRUST is important for health tech companies to be HITRUST certified for the following reasons:

1. It provides a comprehensive framework that is tailored specifically for the healthcare industry.
2. It is recognized as the gold standard in healthcare security and privacy
3. It demonstrates an organization’s commitment to protecting patient data

HITRUST’s risk-based approach aids in identifying and prioritizing security risks, reducing data breach potential. Certification involves self-assessment, gap analysis, and formal assessment by an approved assessor. After passing, HITRUST grants certification, ensuring yearly assessments for ongoing compliance.

After all of these steps, Relaymed obtained HITRUST certification August 1st, 2022!
